On the 30th of August, Fiona Patten MLC met with various managers, networkers and CEO’s of housing and homelessness service providers at the Parliament.
Some organisations represented included Melbourne City Mission, Launch Housing, Women’s Property Initiative, The Salvation Army and others.
Many issues were raised around the lack of temporary housing and adequate exit points from the system and into long term affordable housing.
A representative from Minister for Housing, Martin Foley’s office was present. Ms Patten welcomes the positive engagement and cooperation in this area and hopes to work towards addressing the issue of homelessness in the Northern Metropolitan region.
