Involved with cricket? Than listen up, there’s a bunch of grants available to you from Cricket Victoria and the State Government.
Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund
Cricket Australia, Cricket Victoria and the Australian Cricketers Association have launched the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) in Victoria. Clubs can apply funding for minor and major grants of up to $30,000 to assist with their grounds, pavilion upgrades and practice nets. Applications close on 22 March 2020. More information is available at: www.cricketvictoria.com.au/grants/
Victorian Government Community Cricket Program
The $13.5 million Community Cricket Program provides a range of grant opportunities across two funding streams, Community Cricket Facilities (closes 13 March 2020) and Metropolitan Cricket and Community Centres (EOI closes 31 May 2020). More information is available here: wwwsport.vic.gov.au/grants-and-funding/our-grants/community-cricket-program
This program is funded by the state government and is 1:1 funding i.e. they will match 50% of the costs. Councils are expect to chip in some, if not the rest of the costs.
This one is a little different to the Cricket Victoria fund, because clubs do not apply directly, the applications have to go through your local council.
I am aware that there are some issues where grounds are managed by Parks Victoria and not the local council. I know this is the case in Yarra Bend Park, and I am liaising with the Department to make sure clubs whose grounds are managed by Parks Vic can still apply for the grant. If this is the situation at your club, please get in touch with my office and I will raise your case in my discussions with the Department.
Victorian Government Sporting Clubs Program
The Sporting Club Grants Program provides grants to assist in the purchase of sports uniforms and equipment and to improve the capacity and accessibility of Victorian clubs and other community sport and recreation organisations and increase the skills of their coaches, officials and managers.
