FREEDOM FOR REFUGEES, MIGRANTS & ALL
Walk Together is Welcome to Australia’s annual national celebration of Australia’s diversity, designed as a tangible expression of the welcoming, fair and compassionate society we are committed to building. Faced with unjust policies towards people seeking asylum, it is more important than ever for us to amplify the values of compassion and welcome.
In its sixth year, and building on the success of the past, we hope to coordinate Walk Together in as many as 30 cities and regional centres across Australia. We will again involve celebrities, sports stars, and political leaders from all parties to join thousands of everyday Australians to celebrate the diversity that makes our nation great.
We are collaborating with many community organisations, faith groups, businesses, advocacy groups, multicultural communities, media outlets, and settlement service providers, to make Walk Together 2017 our biggest and most impactful walk ever.
We want to paint a picture of the multicultural, compassionate, and welcoming Australia we are, and want to continue to be.
